On Body Language
I believe that there is some sort of relationship between the amount of power or prestige a person commands, and his range of vocabulary. The higher up the management ladder a person is, the better he is able to communicate in words. This can be seen by the comparatively less amount of gesticulation he uses to communicate his thought and messages.
It's just like how toddlers express themselves through body language much more than what their limited range of words can achieve. And as they grow older they gesture less and speak more sense. That is also why the more flamboyant or what you call animated individuals are considered more childish.
We do not lose some of our reflex actions as we grow older. Rather, they become more sophisticated and obscure it almost seems natural! Adults still instinctively bring their hands to their mouths when they blurt something out by accident. However, this is quickly transformed into a noserub or chinrub, oh how cunning!
It takes alot of conscious practise and awareness to actually master body language. That only means that people good at telling lies must have been doing exactly that their whole life :)
